Zipit updates

Over the weekend I was able to finish up the second edition rootfs’s and fs images as well as an installer for windows users.

This update should allow full FREE use of im networks via pidgin..

I will work on getting everything updated and uploaded this weekend.

  1. Hi,

I am a very new user to linux and zipit.
I was able to get zipit working with help of instructions published by Hunter Davis and your images.

I am able to start the xwindows and even get the browser working. (I had to do a trials by pressing different buttons to see the programs list, like we do in windows by clicking on the start button…would be helpful if we had some guidance about working with ui)

My other problem is that some of the menu have sub-menus that dont fit the screen and I dont know how to navigate to the sub-menus that are not on the screen. I see few items that are on the non-visible right side of the screen.

Also if I am able to start the browser, it too is not fitting in the screen. Instead it appears that I can see a small part of the “big” screen. Basically I dont even get to see the menu bar or address bar of the browser which makes it very difficult for a newbie.

Another question I have is about keys which one is used to when using a full keyboard. Keys like ESC, TAB..I know you are the only person that had been developing the keymap, so I am wondering what I should be doing for these keys.

Finally, I would like to thank you for all the good work you have done for rest of us. And I hope you are able to put out instructions for us to help in your efforts.

    Cheers
